The Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) group of volunteers is due in Kampala on 18th March for their Spring Visit. The CWB has supported the spreading of the game in Uganda especially in rural areas.

Cricket Without Boundaries works in 5 sub-Saharan African countries to deliver cricket development alongside health and social messages. The not for profit organisation works on the principle that sport - particularly cricket - is inclusive and accessible for all.

National Team Fast bowler and CWB Ambassador Emmanuel Isaneez has been visiting the various CWB projects in the country and when we spoke to him he highlighted the relevance of the program in Uganda

We have a project in three regions that's Kasese, Fort Portal and Kabale we chose them because of the distance which hindered frequent follow ups by UCA so the children kept on having the thirst of coaches from Kampala. CWB is working hand in hand with UCA to ensure cricket success in these regions, as CWB we are having volunteer coaches from Europe and other parts of the world this will boost the project and also our natives get knowledge from them as we also help in sensitising health messages to the young ones and adults .

The Spring Project is going to run from March 18th to April 31st and will be led by 2 volunteers who have already been to Uganda  Sara Jane merchant and Clare Sanderson. Isaneez further stated that

Our plan as CWB is to elevate the quality of the sport in regions we are involved and that is why we keep going to the same places. The number of young cricketers has massively increased with awareness of the game itself, HIV messages have been put across to these young ones to change the next generation.

The CWB program has been running Uganda for the last 10 years and has been a key development partner for Uganda Cricket.
