The Rwanda School Select side arrived in Uganda last evening and will be camped in the Western District of Fortportal as they visit Nyakasura School. They will play 4 matches against Nyakasura as the hosts prepare for the schools cricket week qualifiers.

Last year in December Nyakasura made the trip across the border to visit Rwanda and they played 5 matches at the Gahanga stadium with the visitors winning the series. In a bid to grow the relationship Rwanda has sent a select side to visit Nyakasura which will further raise the profile of cricket in the western region.

Cricket has been growing in the western region at a fast rate with the region dominating mini cricket for the last five years, last year Nyakasura school started competing in the national league and performed admirably well finishing third in their 1st season. This performance led to the introduction of another team in the league called Karago CC and for the last 3 years Nyakasura school has made the semi finals of the boys school's cricket week.

The series will start today at the Nyakasura school oval and this will be the 1st time the region is hosting a team from outside Uganda.
