Matchday 4 of the 2025 National Men’s 50 Over League delivered an action-packed weekend of cricket under perfect skies! Fans were treated to stunning centuries, emphatic wins, and a real shake-up in both Division One and Two standings.
Saturday, April 26 – Division Two
✅ Soroti City vs Budo – Entebbe Cricket Oval
Soroti City Cricket Club continued their strong start with a 37-run victory over Budo, moving to the top of Group A with four points from two games.
After early struggles, captain Derrick Bakunzi (56) and Gideon Outeke (36) steadied the innings with a crucial 71-run partnership, helping Soroti post 191 all out.
In reply, Budo's chase stumbled despite Jackson Asiku’s fighting 34. Outeke starred again with the ball, earning Player of the Match honours as Budo were bundled out for 154.
Player of the Match: Outeke Gideon – 36 runs, 2 wickets & 2 fielding dismissals
✅ Jinja SS vs Nile – Jinja SS Oval
Nile Cricket Club roared back with a crushing 205-run win over Jinja SS, headlined by the first Division Two century of the season!
Robert Ajuna smashed a scintillating 123, supported by Jimson Wankona (46 runs, 4 wickets with 7 maidens!) to seal a massive victory. The student-packed Jinja SS were bundled out for a measly 54 in 25 overs in their fruitless chase of 254.
Player of the Match: Ajuna Robert – 123 runs, 1 wicket & 3 fielding dismissals.
❌ Tornado vs St. John’s SS – Florida Oval
St. John’s SS were awarded a walkover victory as Tornado Cricket Club forfeited — their second walkover this season.
Sunday, April 27 – Division One Games
✅ Avengers vs Rounders – Entebbe Cricket Oval
Rounders Cricket Club broke their winless run with a commanding 92-run win over Avengers.
Wicket-keeper batsman Steven Wabwose (68), spinning all-rounder Siraje Nsubuga (43), and opener Ronald Puwata (30) powered them to 213 all out.
Despite a fighting effort from Abraiz Ali Mir (30), Avengers collapsed under superb spells from former Cricket Cranes skipper Brian Masaba, who was playing his first match (4 wickets) plus three scalps apiece from medium pacer Zubair Tembo and Nsubuga. Avengers were bundled out for just 121 runs in 38 overs.
Player of the Match: Steven Wabwose – 68 runs & 3 fielding dismissals
✅ Ceylon Lions vs Aboojo – Serenity Oval, Kamengo
Ceylon Lions soared to the top of Division One with a dominant 106-run win over former leaders Aboojo.
Powerful Robinson Obuya blazed the league’s first Division One century (111 runs), guiding the Lions to 296 all out.
Pascal Murungi (62) fought bravely for Aboojo, but Ruwan Jayaratne (4 wickets) and Frank Nsubuga (3 wickets) led the Lions' charge with the ball to restrict their rivals to 190 all out.

✅ JACC vs Wanderers – Jinja SS Oval
Following their loss to Ceylon Lions on Matchday Three, JACC bounced back with a 69-run win in a tense low-scoring encounter against Wanderers.
Richard Sohera (4 wickets for 5 runs) and Eddie Agaba (3 wickets) ripped through Wanderers’ batting lineup after Mulongo Paul (44) had set the platform for JACC’s 143 all out.

Sunday, April 27 – Division Two Games
✅ Mukono Warriors vs Mukono Development – GM Sugar Oval
Mukono Warriors dominated the Mukono Derby with a 229-run win, smashing the highest team score so far this season — 335 all out in 46.2 overs. Harsh Panchal (111) and Kalpesh Jeshani (66) led the batting assault before Warriors bundled out Mukono Development for just 106 with only the latter’s captain Fahad Mutagana fighting with 50 off 65 balls at the top before he got himself runout. ✅ Ismaili Community vs Premier CC – Florida Oval
Ismaili Community celebrated their first win of the season, defeating Premier CC by 87 runs.
Ghulam Hunzai (43) and Nazim Punjwani (48) provided key runs before Yug Haria (62) and Hiral Patel (45) fought valiantly for Premier, but it wasn’t enough. Their innings ended on 153 all out in 34.4 overs to remain winless in the season, thus far!
