Entebbe Oval

KC Budo CC 157/10 in 48.5 Overs (Joel Siminyu 42(97), Thawi Philip 25(35), Taha ahmed 21(53)) lost to Patidar CC 158/9 in 32.3 overs (Ali Dishan 21(23)) by 1 wicket

Man of Match: Ahmed Mushtaq 2/21 in 9, 16(18)

Patidar CC walked away with the spoils in a tightly contested affair with KC Budo at the lakeside oval in Entebbe.

Patidar won the toss and chose to take the field 1st. KC Budo looked at this as an opportunity to amass the runs that they knew their bowlers could easily defend. Unfortunately, the well with runs dried up and all that Budo could muster were droplets. The wickets fell in quick succession with only Joel Siminyu scoring 42 in twice as many balls with some change taking the mantle to score runs for them.

It is however peculiar that Patidar had to lose 9 wickets in their chase of the 157 Budo set. With the Patidar top order falling early, there was an urgency in Budo's quest for victory. The contest quickly evolved to one of one of cunning Abu Mayanja and his boys suddenly felt like they could win. Budo have gotten themselves into such skirmishes in the past with the most memorable coming against Africa CC where they snatched victory from the latter.

Unfortunately, lady luck seemed cross with KC Budo this time round and did not grant them any favors as Budo miserably lost by a single wicket.

Nile CC 47/10 in 12.4 overs (Lennon Kangume 6(14)) lost to Avengers CC 52/2 in 5.1 overs (Uday Sheth 17*(18)) by 8 wickets

Man of Match: Arun Panchal 7/25 in 6 overs

A 100 over game was reduced to a mere 17.5 overs with a very uninspiring Nile providing no challenge whatsoever in the game.

Nile were bundled all out for 47 in just 12.4 overs. Arun Panchal put the Nile batsmen to the sword picking 7 wickets in 6 overs to make sure the Nile team did not cross the 50 run mark. Lennon Kangume with 6 runs off the bat tried to brave the challenge but was up to no task as he was bundled out 14 balls later.

Avengers wasted no time in dominating the proceedings chasing down the score in under 6 overs. The game lasted less than an hour giving the players and umpires alike a very early break.

Jinja Oval

SKLPS 155/10 in 41.5 overs (Mansukh Gorasiya 39(53), Sashi Kerai 34(24)) beat Tornado CC 150/10 in 38.2 overs (Cyrus Kakuru 30(22), Sharma Mukaya 26(35)) by 5 runs

Man of match: Mansukh Gorasiya 39(53)

Tornado CC succumbed to yet another loss in as many games having failed to chase 155 runs set by SKLPS at the riverside oval in Jinja.

Tornado won the toss and chose to field first hoping to get SKLPS to score as little as they could so that the run chase would be easy. Everything went well and according to plan for Tornado, knowing that anything below 200 could easily be chased. Moses Kitara 4/38 in 9.5 over and Maxwell Torach 3/26 in 9 overs shone with the ball to see the SKLPS team restricted to just 155 runs in 41.5 overs.

The chase however did not go as planned as key batting figures for Tornado were easily hustled out to leave the team reeling in shock at the early dismissals. The Tornado tail did not provide any resistance either as the team was eventually bowled out for 150 in 38.2 overs. Tornado should have won easily but this loss sees the slip further down leaving the top two berths on the table a highly contested affair.

Wanderers CC Vs Africa CC

Wanderers CC and Africa CC who were supposed to battle it out in their separate quests for glory were denied the opportunity when the game was called off due to the unavailability of the grounds. Like one very vocal Africa CC player always says, to be continued, this game will be rescheduled for another date.
