Having won their last encounter against Kings’ College Budo CC on the strength of their bowlers’ performance, the Wanderers will hope for a more all-round show as they play a tougher opponent in the Avengers.

The two face off again this weekend at the lake side oval as they push closer to the end of an exciting league; one that saw the Wanderers lose their last match by a mere two runs.

The men in blue put on a bowling master class at the river side oval last week, led by the terrific two – Tembo Zubair (4/16) and man of the match Kateyenge David (3/32), that limited the Budonians to a mere 56 runs giving them an impressive 147 runs win. This was complimented by skipper Denis Musali’s (41 of 41 balls) whom the half ton has fiercely eluded in the last two games.

Of the two teams, the Avengers have had a better run this season and despite missing the promotion narrowly, they have had their time in the top tier of the league. Their most recent encounter against ACC saw remarkable display from batsman Karan Joshi (100 off 81 balls) with significant contributions from Pandiya (44 off 43 balls), Umer Waseem (46 off 50 balls) and Aran Panchal’s notable five wicket haul. The Wanderers batsmen will be ensuring that such a feat is not replicated on their watch.

Both the Wanderers and Avengers will be rooting on their strengths with the bowlers and batsmen respectively, but ultimately the team with the most all round show will win the day. Considering one team in particular is looking to avenge a painful loss, the action at Entebbe will be one to watch and should make for an exciting game.
