LYCA WOMEN’S T20 LEAGUE 2025 – MATCHDAY 3 PREVIEW
Saturday, June 14, 2025
TENSION RISES AT THE TOP
As the Lyca Women’s T20 League enters Matchday Three, the table tightens and the tempo rises. Unbeaten teams collide, old scores resurface, and redemption stories are penned across four explosive fixtures. With semi-final races taking shape, every run, wicket, and over carries serious weight.
SATURDAY – JUNE 14, 2025 – FIXTURE PREVIEWS
Soroti City vs Wanderers – Lugogo Cricket Oval – 10am & 2pm
Top-of-the-Table Thriller
This is the headline clash — two unbeaten giants, Soroti City and Wanderers, square off for Group A supremacy.
Both sides sit on four points, but Soroti will miss key quartet Proscovia Alako, Janet Mbabazi, Sarah Tino, and Kevin Amuge, still away at the Kwibuka Tournament in Kigali.
Their last meeting? The 2024 semi-final — Soroti dismantled Wanderers, skittling them for 63 before cruising to an 8-wicket win, thanks to Mbabazi’s 4-fer and a composed chase from Timong Patricia and Alako. This rematch is personal. Wanderers want revenge. Soroti want to prove last year was no fluke.
Pioneer vs Tornado Bee – Entebbe Cricket Oval – 10am & 2pm
Mid-Table Momentum Clash
In Entebbe, Pioneer seek to bounce back from opening losses against a confident Tornado Bee side that swept rivals Tornado CC on Matchday Two.
Still missing MVP Teddy Oyella, the Bees will rely on new faces and gritty resolve to push up the Group A table. These two didn’t meet in 2024, but with knockouts in sight, expect fireworks in a clash that could shift the mid-table dynamic.
Mukono Development vs JACC – Florida Oval – 10am & 2pm
First-Ever Face-Off
A historic first meeting awaits at Florida Oval. Mukono Development, riding high from two dominant wins over Africa CC, look to cement their rise.
Winless JACC are desperate to stop the slide. Missing Immaculate Nakisuyi and Kevin Awino (national duty), they will have the rookie players to lean on to steady the ship.
Mukono’s youth-powered, disciplined unit is building belief. JACC must find their spark — or risk falling further behind.
Jinja SS vs Olila – GM Sugar Oval – 10am & 2pm
Blockbuster Rematch
It’s déjà vu at GM Sugar Oval — a replay of the 2024 semi-final where Olila edged Jinja SS in a low-scoring nail-biter.
This season, both are unbeaten, but Olila sit top of Group B on net run rate. Armed with Malisa Ariokot — the league’s top scorer (90 runs in 4 innings) — plus starlets Lorna Anyait and Immaculate Nandera, Olila look sharp. Jinja SS, led by Suzan Kakai, want payback and pole position. This clash promises drama, nerves, and top-class cricket.

Matchday Three is a turning point.
▪️ Soroti vs Wanderers is about pride, power, and positioning.
