With the outfield wet due to the heavy downpour the previous night, the clash between Africa and the Tigers was delayed and overs had to be reduced to 14 per innings.
Africa cc won the toss and chose to bat first. Jjunju Gadaffi (18) and Daniel Batuwa (12) opened the batting for Africa. Dhasunk Jesani partnered with Dinesh Kumar Nakrani to destroy the Africa batting lineup.
The opening pair of Dan and Junju managed 25 runs in 8 overs with the Tigers bowlers taking advantage of the slow wicket to peg them down. Jjunju eventually got himself stumped by Navin Pindoria off Dhansuk Jesani’s delivery after he attempted to meet the ball down the track. Daniel Batuwa followed shortly bowled by Bharat G.
Africa was eventually bundled out for a meagre 45 runs in the allotted 14 overs and losing nine wickets in the process. They proved no match for the Tigers bowling arsenal.
With such a thin score set, the Tigers had no reason to shy away from aggression and sent in Nanji Pindoria (10) and Ankit Patel (13) to open the batting. The very first over of the second innings saw a maximum, and two boundaries that set the tone for the run chase.
The game was all done and dusted in the next 23 balls to hand Africa their biggest yet defeat in this year’s Unimoni sponsored T20 league cup.

In the scotching afternoon sunshine, the strikers took down the Aziz Damani Development Team in an enthralling game. A.D.D.T won the toss and chose to bat first.
Munir Ismael (29) and Anas Baig (1) opened the batting for A.D.D.T and provided a steady though slow start with Munir Ismael presuming the aggressor role. Anas Baig was first to fall getting bowled by Aloysious Odoi.
Frank Akankwasa (3/7 in 4 overs) came in with his off-spin which proved lethal enough to restrict the batsmen from scoring. Simon Peter Oketcho (2/22 in 3 overs) and (Rogers Olipa 2/16 in 3 overs) also made significant contributions with the ball with the latter’s younger brother one of his victims.
Brian Tayoleke stood out at the tail-end with a relatively aggressive 20 off 14 not out managing to drag the score to 113 in 20 overs.
Zephania Arinaitwe (53) and Perry Wazombe (14) opened the batting in the expected style scoring 18 runs in the first 6 balls of the innings 2 maximums and a boundary inclusive. Perry Wazombe fell in the second over to Yakub Ahmed caught at long-on by Brian Tayoleke.
Enough damage had already been done at this point with 70 runs in just 7 overs. It’s only Ivan Thawithemwira who wasn’t in explosive mode (18 not out) and left much of the aggression role to the younger Arinaitwe and Olipa Rogers who didn’t disappoint.
Brian Tayoleke did most of the work for A.D.D.T in the field as he took all the 4 catches (wickets picked in the entire innings) at long-on and cow-corner. Gerald Opuna perhaps the youngest player in the series performed best for A.D.D.T with the ball with figures of 2/4 in his single over, dismissing his elder brother Rogers Olipa in the process.
