After an early morning downpour that soaked up the oval, making it unplayable by 9 am, the Challengers and Premier shared points and departed, with the the former having another game later that afternoon. However, 3:00 pm still found the outfield unplayable until about a half hour later causing a reduction in number of overs to be played from usual 20 to 16 overs.
The Wanderers won the toss and opted to field first, gettting off to a good start with opening bowler Tembo Zubair picking his first wicket in Aneef Mohammed (16 off 6 balls) within three overs, followed by Steven Wabwose who was caught and dismissed after facing five balls. Haneef Mohammed came in next with a good 3 - overs spell (3/16) bowling out both Hussein Faizal and Naseer Ahmed, who didn't bother the scorers much to have the Challengers at 49/4 after 5 overs.
Arthur Kyobe managed 30 runs before he was caught by Tembo off Haneef's bowling. Tusiime Peter was not left behind, bagging two wickets of his own in Amir Hamza (8 off 11) and Mubiru Gerald (7 off 8 balls) assisted by Yasir Ngobi who had them both caught. However, the game changer for the Challengers was Sadam Oyaga (20 off 18) and David Wabwire (30 off 11 balls) partnership that saw the two put on 50 runs in the last 6 overs, with the man of the match posting a rapid 30 runs that included three sixers, to get them to a comfortable 126/8 score at innings end.
Second innings got off to a dreadful start for the visitors when opener Abu Seguya was bowled on David Wabwire's first delivery. Zulu Walaza (36 off 30 balls) and Haneef Mohamed starred for the Wanderers with the bat before being caught and dismissed in the fourth and 16th over off Aneef Mohamed's bowling, respectively. Ahmed Naseer and Hamza Amir dismissed the rest of the four batsmen to have the visitors at 95/7 at the end of he end of the match, leading the Challengers to their fourth win of the tournament, while effectively cementing Wanderers at bottom place once again this week.
