Game One:

Wanderers CC Vs Jinja SSS CC

WANDERERS CC 90/7 in 20 overs (Walaza Zulu 21 off 40, Tembo Zubair 13* off 10, Nobert Abii 1/6 in 4 overs) lost to JINJA SS 91/2 in 15.5 Overs (Robinson Obuya 51 off 40, Pius Oloka 18* off 16, Jimson Wankhona 4/11 in 4 overs) by 8 wickets

Sam Walusimbi and his charges ended their season with a win that eluded them since the tournament begun. They were able to grab the one win against JACC to finish in style after losing to Jinja SS earlier in the first game of the day.

Jinja SS saw to it that they booked a quarter final slot in the Unimoni National Men’s T20 Cup with a commanding win against the Wanderers.

Wanderers won the toss and elected to bat first, much to the joy of the Jinja SS captain. Jimson Wankhona picked four for a paltry 11 runs to see that the Wanderers collapsed at 90 all out. Zulu Walaza (21) and Zubair Arnold Tembo (13) featured on both sides of the batting lineup to guide their team to 90 by innings end.

Needing 91, Jinja SS bid their time on the crease and patiently chased down the score. The efforts of Norbert Abii (1/6 in 4 overs) slowed them down a bit, but to no avail. Robinson Obuya’s unbeaten 51 was more than enough to see his team over the threshold in just under 16 overs.

The result sees Jinja SS book a quarter final showdown against Ceylon Lions next weekend at the Kyambogo Cricket Oval.

Game Two:

Wanderers CC Vs JACC

JACC 48/10 in 15.4 overs (Jamal .A. 7 off 10, Sanya 1/7 in 2 overs) Lost to WANDERERS CC 49/1 IN 7 overs (Abu Sseguya 16* 23, Dalton Kisule 14* off 7, David Katayenge 4/10 in 4 overs, Norbert Abii 2/9 in 4 overs) by 9 wickets.

Determined not to finish last in the group, Wanderers CC set out to prove more to themselves than to others that they still have a winning formula albeit it coming so late in the season.

Captain of the day Nirav Hathi won the toss and elected to take the ball. JACC started off well getting to 18 runs in three overs but that was just as much as they would manage before the wickets begun to tumble. Man of match David Kateyege (4/10) and Norbert Abii (2/9) combined well to see off JACC for a measly 48 runs.

Wanderers debutant Dalton Kisule (14*) and Abu Sseguya (16*) were able to guide Wanderers home in 42 balls, sparing a whole lot of 78 balls to hand the visitors their one and only win in the tournament. The win also saw them avoid the bottom of the table gaining a place higher than their opponents JACC.
