QUICK POINTERS
1. If there was any premonition that the nine-day Tour of Qatar would leave the Cricket Cranes fatigued, the national men’s cricket team cast any such fears out of the window with solid shifts on their first day of action.

2. Steve Tikolo’s boys sent a strong message to the rest of the five teams they will be playing on this tour with two back-to-back Twenty20 wins on a hot and humid day at the Shri Mohanlal Desai Cricket Ground (Sanjay Farm) in Gujarat, India.

3. There was no luck at the pre-match toss for captain Roger Mukasa before both games but that mattered less after sealing victory in both games with relative ease in the end.

4. All-rounder Deus Muhumuza and left-hand top order batsman Simon Ssesazi are not resting on their laurels from gulf nation. The pair continued to make hay here in India with two Man of Match (MOM) performances.

5. Whereas Uganda exhibited energetic displays in the field, it was the batting that stood out as Muhumuza’s a run-a-ball 35 in the morning and Ssesazi, in the evening, stole the show with the tour’s first half century of 51 off 51. He also scored one at the Asian Town International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

6. Tomorrow, the team will have a change in the code of play when they take on Surat Cricket Association’s Under 19 Team. The team will feature youngsters that play in the Gujarat State U-19 side, a straight feeder to the India U-19 side that has just won the Junior World Cup down under in New Zealand.
