26 Players have summoned to start prepartions for the 2022 U19 World Cup in Westindies, the qualifiers that were scheduled to be hosted by Nigeria have been moved to Rwanda due to Covid. 

The team had started preparations under the guidance of head coach Ivan Thawithemwira and his assistant Robinson Turinawe before sports was halted due to the high rising number of Covid cases in the country. 

The players have been selected from all over the country and the team will have a atleast a month of training before they head out to Kigali. All the players will under go mandatory Covid tests before they resume training on Wednesday. 

The squad will be cut down to 18 players after a month of training. The qualifiers will be held from September 28th to 7th October. in Kigali Rwaanda. Uganda will be battling for the single world cup slot to the World Cup Rwanda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Namibia.
