2025 UCA NATIONAL MEN’S 50 OVER LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 11 PREVIEW
Sunday, June 15, 2025
THE BUILD-UP!
As Matchday 11 of the 2025 UCA National Men’s 50 Over League arrives, the league table is heating up across both divisions. The top sides are chasing playoff security, mid-table teams are eyeing a late surge, and those near the bottom are clinging to survival hopes. With every match carrying major implications, this weekend is packed with needle and narrative.
SUNDAY – JUNE 15, 2025 – DIVISION ONE FIXTURES
Wanderers vs Tornado Bee – Lugogo Cricket Oval – 10am
Momentum Clash at the Capital
Wanderers host Tornado Bee in a fixture bursting with mid-table pressure and redemption storylines. Their first-round meeting on April 13 was a nightmare for Wanderers—dismissed for 122 and beaten by 9 wickets in just 16.3 overs thanks to Gerald Olipa’s unbeaten 50 and Anas Baig’s fireworks.
Fast forward to June, and the Wanderers have finally sparked to life. Their emphatic 114-run win over Rounders last week shows their firepower is back. Tornado Bee, meanwhile, are desperate to halt a mini-slide after two narrow losses to Kutchi Tigers (54 runs) and JACC (9 runs).
With both teams hovering just outside playoff contention, expect a fiercely contested battle.
Ceylon Lions vs Avengers – Entebbe Cricket Oval – 10am
Top Dog vs The Upset Hunters
Ceylon Lions return from a short break atop the table and eager to solidify their playoff credentials. Their last outing saw them edge Aboojo via the DLS method in Kamengo. They previously beat Avengers by 3 wickets in a nervy low-scorer where Charles Musemeza and Ankit Patel held their nerve.
Avengers enter Entebbe licking their wounds after falling to Aboojo last week in a tight finish. Captain Joshi Yashashvi will need another big effort if Avengers are to upset the league leaders and reignite their top-four push.
Can Avengers stun the front-runners or will Ceylon’s measured approach prevail again on the shores of Lake Victoria?

Aboojo vs JACC – Jinja SS Oval – 10am
Top-Four Thriller in the East
A heavyweight clash looms in Jinja as Aboojo (4th) face JACC (3rd) with playoff implications written all over it. Their first duel was drama-filled—DLS revisions, fading light, and a seemingly controversial 3-run win for JACC, as adjudged by the hosts partisan fans.
Since then, both sides have impressed. Aboojo beat Avengers last week to bounce back, while JACC edged Tornado Bee in a tight affair. With pride and playoff seeding at stake, expect both teams to leave everything on the oval.
Revenge, reputation, and qualification all on the line.
Kutchi Tigers vs Rounders – Serenity Oval, Kamengo – 10am
Giant vs Survivor
In-form Kutchi Tigers host a Rounders side desperate for any sort of salvation. When these two met earlier in the season, Kutchi Tigers comfortably chased 163 in 23.3 overs thanks to Nitin Jeshani’s dazzling 78.
Kutchi Tigers have since climbed to second place, brushing aside Tornado Bee last week. Rounders, on a four-match losing streak, must dig deep if they’re to avoid another bruising result.
With survival on the line, can Rounders find fight—or will Kutchi Tigers continue their relentless march?
SUNDAY – JUNE 15, 2025 – DIVISION TWO FIXTURES
Patidar vs Budo – Florida Oval – 10am
Mid-Table Battle, Crucial Stakes
A vital Group A clash sees Patidar and Budo lock horns in a fixture that could shape the mid-season landscape.
Budo (4 points from 5 games) narrowly lost by 2 wickets to Entale last weekend and will be itching to bounce back. Patidar (2 points from 3 matches) are also on the rebound after a heavy 68-run defeat to Nile.
With both sides eager to revive their campaigns, expect a fiery contest as every point becomes critical in the playoff chase.
GM Sugar vs Mukono Development – GM Sugar Oval, Njeru – 10am
Unbeaten Giants vs Wounded Underdogs
Group B leaders GM Sugar (10 points from 5 matches) are on a flawless run and return to their Njeru fortress fresh from a 261-run hammering of St. Johns Mukono.
They now face Mukono Development (5 points from 6 games), who are still licking their wounds after a bruising 302-run defeat to Ismaili Community on Heroes Day, June 9.
It’s a clash of extremes—GM Sugar looking to stay perfect, while Mukono eye a shock upset to restore pride and relevance in the playoff conversation.
FINAL WORD
As Matchday 11 unfolds, Division One & Two bring their fair share of drama. Action will be high-octane. From GM Sugar’s march toward perfection to the heated midfield battles involving Budo and Patidar, the stakes are rising. With the season entering its defining phase, every boundary, breakthrough, and brave moment could shift the standings and spark new storylines.
