The Victoria Pearls will make their second appearance at the T20 Women’s Global Qualifiers in Abu Dhabi from April 25th - 2nd May. Uganda’s maiden appearance at the T20 Women’s Global Qualifiers was in Netherlands in 2018.

The squad of 15 players will be led by Janet Mbabazi and she will be assisted by Rita Musamali. The technical team is led by Lawrence Ssematimba who is assisted by Deus Muhumuza with Richard Okia added as a Team Analyst.

Uganda is in Group A alongside Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand and USA. Sri Lanka at 7th in the world are the highest ranked team in the tournament, Thailand is 12th in the World, Scotland 14th in the World with the USA ranked 20th in the World and Uganda ranked 18th in the World.

The top two sides in each group with qualify for the semifinals with the two sides that reach the final earning a spot at the 2024 T20 Women’s World Cup in Bangladesh later this year. Uganda played against Scotland and Thailand in the Netherlands but will be meeting USA and Sri Lanka for the 1st time.

Uganda will play two warm up game against UAE on 21st and Vanuatu on 23rd before taking on Scotland in their opening group game. Uganda will then face USA and Thailand before finishing their group games against Sri Lanka. Scotland and Thailand will be night matches, a 1st time experience for the Victoria Pearls.
