The sun blazed over the Entebbe Cricket Oval on September 21, setting the stage for a historic clash in the UCA Men's 50 Overs League Division Two Final.

Newcomers GM Sugar, unbeaten all season, faced Mukono Warriors CC — a team they had already humbled earlier in the campaign. With the pressure of a title decider, the toss was crucial. GM Sugar won it and chose to bat.

Their innings was a picture of patience and purpose.

Though they lacked a towering individual score, it was the collective grit that shone. Rahulkumar Patel’s steady 43 formed the backbone of the innings, while Hetalkumar (34) and Bhaveshbhai (32) chipped in with vital contributions.

The Warriors' bowlers, led by Jignesh Vekariya and Hardik Donga, kept the run rate in check, but GM Sugar still managed to post a respectable 190 in 44.2 overs — more than enough on a tense final day.

Mukono Warriors, in reply, were rattled early. Bhaveshbhai struck twice in quick succession, including the prized wicket of Warriors’ captain Alpesh Mepani for a duck.

Panic set in. Kalpesh Jeshani’s aggressive 26 off 13 balls gave fleeting hope, but it was snuffed out by a relentless GM Sugar attack.

Pramit Harishbhai Patel led the charge with a brilliant 3 for 10, while Hevin and Fenilkumar wrapped up the tail. Mukono Warriors folded for just 104 in 34.4 overs.

An 86-run win crowned GM Sugar champions of the UCA Men’s 50 Overs League Division Two — and remarkably, in their debut season.

From start to finish, they remained unbeaten, showcasing not just talent, but also composure and unity.

Their journey to glory was one of complete dominance. It began with a 74-run win over Premier CC in a rain-affected opener.

Then came a tense 4-wicket victory against Ismaili Community CC.

What followed was a steamroller: 170-run win over SKLPS CC, 118-run win over Mukono Warriors, a 261-run demolition of St. John’s SS Mukono, and a record-breaking 252-run rout of Mukono Development.

Even when tested, like in their tight 2-wicket win over Tornado CC, GM Sugar found a way. In the Qualifier, they comfortably chased down Kutchi Tigers B to book their place in the final — where they completed their fairy-tale season.

7 League Wins. 1 Qualifier. 1 Final. Unbeaten Champions.

The season was also defined by standout individual performances. Bhavikkumar Kantilal Patel topped the Division Two scoring charts with 297 runs, while Mukono Warriors’ Hardik Donga led the bowling with 20 wickets. His teammate Harsh Panchal capped off a remarkable campaign by earning MVP honours with an outstanding 917 points.

GM Sugar didn’t just win matches — they made a statement.
Simply unstoppable.
